This policy explains what personal information Marqe collects, how we use it and the choices you have. We collect as little as we need to run the service.
1. What we collect
- Account details — your email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider) and optional display name.
- Billing details — your plan, subscription status and a Stripe customer reference. Card numbers are collected and stored by Stripe, never by us.
- Usage records — which exports you copy or download, so we can apply plan limits.
- Newsletter — your email address if you subscribe.
- Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept for security and debugging.
- On your device — your sign-in session and your Remix shortlist are stored in your browser’s local storage. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.
2. Why we use it
To provide your account and paid features, process payments, enforce plan limits, send service and newsletter emails you asked for, prevent abuse, and improve the archive. Our legal bases are performing our contract with you, your consent (newsletter), and our legitimate interest in running a secure service.
3. Who processes it
We share data only with providers that run Marqe on our behalf: our hosting and database provider, Stripe for payments, and our email delivery provider. We do not sell personal information.
4. Brand data
The archive contains information about companies, gathered from their public websites. It is not intended to contain personal information. If you believe it does, contact us and we will remove it.
5. Retention
We keep account data while your account is open. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires. Server logs are kept for a limited period. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data unless we must keep it by law.
6. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent to emails at any time (every newsletter has an unsubscribe link). Depending on where you live — including under Canada’s PIPEDA and the EU/UK GDPR — you may also object to processing or complain to your data protection authority.
7. Security and transfers
Data is encrypted in transit and access is restricted. Our providers may process data outside your country; where they do, we rely on their contractual safeguards.
8. Changes and contact
We will update the date above when this policy changes and notify account holders of material changes. To exercise your rights or ask a question, email hello@marqe.app. See also our Terms of Service.
